Today we have been told that we had to investigate top 3 of our favourite facts about New Zealand.

Fact 1: When people know that the name of New Zealand in Maori is Aotearoa. The meaning of it is the land of the long white cloud.

Fact 2: When they call it kiwi they think about the fruit but it is not it is the flightless bird.

Fact 3: In Gisborne it is the first city that you can see the sunrise.

  1. Malo Daniel,

Congratulations on completing your very first activity from the Summer Learning Journey. It has been great seeing so many students from the Ako Hiko cluster participating in the Summer Learning Journey so early on in the programme.

What a great way to kick start your journey, you have shared three really interesting facts. I really like the way you have reworded the facts you shared. Well done, Daniel. I also learnt that 30% of New Zealand was covered by forest. This is why our country is so unique and beautiful. I am lucky enough to live on the edge of a native bush, which is like a small scale forest. Have you been to a forest in New Zealand before? If so, where about in the country was the forest that you visited?

I cannot wait to see more incredible posts from you soon.

I hope you are enjoying your holidays,
    Megan :)
