My Incredible Matariki Artwork

Hello fellow bloggers, welcome back to another blog post. Today my class have created a drawing of Matariki artwork, because we had to draw what Matariki means to you. I have chosen this picture to draw because, what it means to me is that these Maori sailers could sail on their canoe through the sea at night time looking up at the night sky, so they could look at the 7 sister stars and other more.
So there are Tupu-ā-nuku, Tupu-ā-rangi, Waipunarangi, Waitī, Waitā, and Ururangi, and Matariki the mother.

Here is an example.

  1. Hi Daneil,
I am really impressed with your creative skills to tell your story of Matariki, and the way you used the colours. Do you think they used the stars to navigate their way in the dark nights in the sea?
